    At the Hawthorn Court on Wednesday, William Stanley Thurley, aged 23 years, labourer of Buckinghurst Street Richmond, was charged with on May 15 stolen a bottle of milk the property of Nurray Milk Pty Ltd of East Kew. Evidence was given that three pints of milk in a quart bottle and a pint bottle which were delivered by a carter employed by the company at a home in Elgin Street were stolen.

    Constable Shaw and Vale Thurley have a quart bottle with the name Nurray Milk Pty Ltd stamped on it on an allotment. A word bearing the name Taylor was on the top of it and the ground was damp. Thurley returned and said that his brother was employed by the dairyman and that he was doing part of the round for his brother.

    Thurley said that he had spilled the quart bottle at Taylors Dairy at Richmond.

    Thurley was fined ten pounds wit a default prison sentnce of one month.
